Quick cuisine
Any vegetable served "plain" is marvelously suited for all your recipes: a mix of frozen vegetables can be sautéed on the grill or cooked in the microwave with any dressing you choose (cream, butter or olive oil, curry, herbs, spices, etc.)
Or go for complementary flavours and dare to mix things up a little: frozen green beans, cooked in water, served with tinned baby carrots, sprinkled with fresh herbs.
To make vegetables more appealing, add colour: you can toss them with aromatic herbs, or mix them with brightly coloured vegetables or--why not?--fruit!
Examples:
- A tin of peas and a tin of corn kernels make for an original and colourful combination.
- A mix of frozen vegetables sweated in the pan with olive oil AND olives. Frozen carrots pureed with one or two potatoes, or frozen fennel pureed with two or three potatoes, will produce a blend of unique coloured purees.
- A bowl of rice with a handful of frozen green peas to provide excitement. Mixed vegetables from a tin, sprinkled with grated cheese and then grilled.
