Ingredient

  • For 1 6 month-old baby 3 cauliflower or broccoli florets 1/2 tsp rapeseed oil 3 grains salt

Recipe

  • Cook the cauliflower florets in the basket of a pressure-cooker for 4 minutes. Crush the florets with a fork or in a blender. Season very, very lightly with salt (a quarter of the amount you would use for yourself) and add a drizzle of rapeseed oil. Serve straightaway.

Tip

Try cooking a whole cauliflower, cooling and freezing what the baby doesn’t eat in glass yogurt pots covered with cling film for a supply of ready-made little pots of natural vegetables.

Expert advice

Keep it simple: just one vegetable at a time so that the baby can get to know each flavour, very little salt and seasoned with oil rather than butter for the essential fatty acids and vitamin E they provide: try rapeseed, soya or sunflower.
