Antioxidants: Little Soldiers

Many epidemiological studies have examined antioxidants and their effects on health and life expectancy. There is in fact a lot to study since there are many different families of these compounds. In order to get the benefits from all of these families, including vitamins, minerals, carotenoids, and polyphenols, it is useful to eat a variety of sources of these compounds, including vegetables as well as fruits and cereals. With so much information available, we would like to review current scientific knowledge about it.
